A flat floor is the foundation of a good tile installation. Without it, large-format tiles will rock, grout lines will crack, and tiles will eventually loosen. As a tiler in Warrington, I provide professional floor levelling using self-levelling compounds — the correct primers, the right mix ratios, and the proper curing time before any tiling begins. This is a critical step for large-format installations. Levelling starting prices are on the floor preparation costs guide.

Takes a couple of minutes.
Self-levelling compound gets your floor flat, but movement can still cause problems. Decoupling mats applied over a level surface add an extra layer of protection against subfloor movement.
Manage expansion and contraction to protect tiles from cracks due to subfloor movement.
Improve the lifespan of the tiled surface by minimising stress and potential damage.
Some decoupling systems can form part of a waterproof assembly when seams, junctions and penetrations are detailed to the manufacturer's specification. Their main job is movement management — not damp-proofing a floor.
