Wet rooms are unforgiving. The finished tiles may look perfect while the important work is hidden underneath. I specialise in the preparation, waterproofing and tiling stages that determine whether a wet room lasts — including new installations and proper rebuilds where an existing wet room has failed. The work beneath the tiles is documented, not just the finished surface.
Specialist wet room enquiry
A wet room is not something I price from square metres alone. Send photos, rough dimensions and a brief description of the project. I’ll review the construction, waterproofing and preparation requirements first, then arrange a site visit where needed.
Wet rooms are priced individually — the construction, falls and waterproofing need to be assessed properly first.

Jackoboard installation — shower walls prepared before tilingWhy Jackoboard instead of plasterboard?
Standard plasterboard absorbs moisture and will deteriorate behind tiles in wet areas — often causing tiles to debond or grout to crack within a few years.
Jackoboard is a waterproof foam-core construction board, not a cement board. It's made from extruded polystyrene (XPS) with a reinforced cement coating on the surface for tile adhesion.
It doesn't absorb water, stays dimensionally stable, and provides a reliable base for tiling in wet areas. Mechanically fixed, with joints taped and sealed, it creates a substrate that properly supports a long-lasting tiled finish.

Real Warrington wet room case study
This documented rebuild starts with the investigation, shows the unsupported areas found beneath the shower floor, and follows the substrate repairs, waterproofing and retiling through to completion. It is the part of wet-room work customers normally never get to see.
View the documented wet room rebuild →Not properly. Wet room cost depends heavily on the existing construction, former or drainage arrangement, waterproofing, preparation and the tile specification. Send photos and rough dimensions first; I’ll review the project and arrange a site visit where needed.
I assess failed wet rooms, but I do not sell cosmetic patch repairs where the underlying waterproofing or construction has failed. If the system has failed, the reliable route is to expose the problem and rebuild the affected wet-room construction properly.
Yes. Key preparation and waterproofing stages can be photographed before they are covered, so there is a clear record of what was installed beneath the finished tiles.
My specialist work is the wet-room preparation, waterproofing and tiling. Where plumbing or electrical work is required, it must be carried out by the appropriate trade and coordinated with the wet-room build.
I’m based in Warrington and work across Cheshire and South Manchester, including Stockton Heath, Lymm, Knutsford, Altrincham and surrounding areas.
